PSYC 223 - Psychology of Sex & Gender3 credit (3 lecture, 0 lab) 3 contact hours [PSYC 120 ]* This course explores historical views of gender and sexual behavior, the psychological construction of gender, gender-based cultural expectations, human sexual behaviors and biological sex differences. Emphasis is on the psycho-social, emotional and behavioral differences between men and women. In addition, the course explores the impact these differences have upon the individual and society. The dynamic interaction between the concepts of society, sexuality and gender roles are also explored. OFFERED: spring semesters
