ECDV 160 - Children with Special Needs3 credit (3 lecture, 0 lab) 3 contact hours [ECDV 120 ]* This comprehensive review of the various issues regarding young children with special needs includes the recognition of individual likenesses and differences among children, developmental milestones and effective caregiver/teacher strategies for working with this population. Roles of teachers and parents as they relate to children with special needs are addressed. Also included are the implications of social and political policy on the process of inclusion of young children in early childhood programs. OFFERED: fall semesters
