Business Administration Professional Track, A.A.S. (Leading to B.S. at Ferris State University)

The Business Administration Professional Track provides a degree completion program in Business Administration for students who have prior coursework containing a professional or occupational emphasis (i.e. Accounting, Digital Arts, Information Technology, Management, Marketing, and many others). The degree is designed to prepare individuals for the rapidly changing nature of the work environment in business, government and other nonprofit organizations. Building upon a core of business courses. The program features a tight sequence of major courses; however, the program also provides the flexibility to specialize in an area of interest for the student.

General Education Requirements


Life Skills


The following course prepares students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Life Skills (the skills needed to succeed in work-life including critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, professionalism, self-awareness, and self-management) and is required in the students’ first semester at MCC:

Written Communication


The following Michigan Transfer Agreement Recommended Courses prepare students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Written Communication, both required:

Oral Communication


The following Michigan Transfer Agreement Recommended Courses prepare students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Oral Communication, one required:

Laboratory Sciences


The following Michigan Transfer Agreement Recommended Courses prepare students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Application of Scientific Methodologies, choose two from different disciplines: 

Mathematics


The following courses prepare students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Basic Computational Methods and Mathematical Concepts and Applications (MATH190 is also a Michigan Transfer Agreement Recommended Course), two required:

Social Sciences


The following Michigan Transfer Agreement Recommended Courses prepare students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Local, National, and Global Citizenship, all required:

Humanities and Fine Arts


The following Michigan Transfer Agreement Recommended Courses prepare students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Cultural Literacy, three required (from more than one prefix) or choose two from list below and an additional course that satisfies FSU’s Cultural Enrichment Elective (students should see a counselor/advisor for help selecting the correct courses):

Program Requirements


Students MUST complete any of MCC’s Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees. Students must complete 90 credits of coursework at MCC, including the courses listed below. Students should see a counselor/advisor to make sure they are following the most current requirements.

Electives/Notes


  • Take additional general education elective credits as necessary to earn the 90 credit total.
  • Students receive 24 credits from their Professional Track Courses (i.e. major program requirements).
  • Students should meet with counselors/advisors from both MCC and FSU to ensure they are taking only required courses.
