MiTransfer Pathway Exercise Science Associate of Science

The MiTransfer Pathway Exercise Science Associate of Science program is intended to set students up to transfer for a bachelor’s degree to a participating college or university through the MiTransfer Pathways Project agreement. Students interested in pursuing this program are strongly encouraged to meet with an MCC counselor in addition to a counselor from the college or university they intend to transfer to determine their plan. 

Upon completion of this program [CIP: 31.0501], graduates should be able to:

  • meet general education core requirements.
  • understand the importance of certifications in physical education, exercise science, and athletics.
  • formulate informed decisions about education and career opportunities in exercise science.
  • develop an understanding the of importance of regular, life-long physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle.
  • transfer to a four year institution.

Special Considerations:

  • Students must earn a grade of C or better in each course.
  • Students must apply and be admitted to the intended transfer college or university. Also subject to secondary admits.
  • Receiving institutions agree to accept the Remaining Degree Requirements as outlined in the receiving institutions’ agreements.
  • Not all institutions are participating with this agreement. To determine participating institutions, click here.  
  • The agreement and list of participating institutions is subject to change.  

Prerequisite courses may apply to this program. A minimum of 60 unduplicated credits (100 level or higher) are required for all associate degree programs.

Life Skills


The following course prepares students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Life Skills (the skills needed to succeed in work-life including critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, professionalism, self-awareness, and self-management) and is required in the students’ first semester at MCC:

Laboratory Science


The following courses prepare students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Application of Scientific Methodologies, some also meet MTA, four required: 

Mathematics


The following course prepares students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Basic Computational Methods and Mathematical Concepts and Applications, one required:
