This program provides the background, skills, knowledge, understanding and techniques needed to produce quality weldments. Students gain knowledge of various materials and an understanding of the effects that heat and stress have on welded materials. Students should develop sufficient skills for American Welding Society Certification.

Upon completion of this program [CIP: 48.0508], graduates should be able to:

demonstrate use of computer systems used in industry.
demonstrate use of industrial machines (lathes, mills, CNC, and Welding power sources).
create a product using SMAW.
create a product using GTAW.
create a product using MIG.
create a product using Flux Core.

Prerequisite courses may apply to this program. A minimum of 60 unduplicated credits (100 level or higher) are required for all associate degree programs.
