Accounting, A.A.S.

This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree with an emphasis in accounting and provides the background and skills necessary for an entry-level job in the accounting field. A counselor should be consulted if the student plans to transfer to a four-year institution. 

Upon completion of this program [CIP: 52.0302], graduates should be able to:

  • apply accounting fundamentals through the entire accounting cycle.
  • apply procedures for accumulating and using data needed for managerial planning, controlling, and decision making.
  • utilize accounting principles in manual and computerized accounting systems.
  • understand and apply general tax rules of individuals and businesses.
  • analyze, interpret, and communicate essential financial information to designated users.

Please Note:


Prerequisite courses may apply to this program. A minimum of 60 unduplicated credits (100 level or higher) are required for all associate degree programs.
