This program prepares students to be qualified educational paraprofessionals in Title I schools and other school districts complying with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The Education Paraprofessional program offers students a solid foundation in general education courses as well as education-related courses. Numerous elective courses are available to tailor the program to each student’s specific interests. Students with a criminal record should consult with the Michigan Department of Education to verify that they are eligible to work in this field. Students are encouraged to meet with an MCC counselor prior to starting this program for help with the verification process.
