CRIM 240 - Introduction to Security Systems3 credit (3 lecture, 0 lab) 3 contact hours [Reading Level 3 and Writing Level 3 ] This course is designed for persons employed in, or interested in, a career within the broad field of public and private security administration. Students are provided with a broad overview of public and private security in its practical application, and to suggest certain theoretical approaches to some of its problems. Specific coverage includes the history and organization of security, principles of risk assessment, physical protection, systems of defense, internal security, fire prevention, emergency planning, safety and insurance protection.
