MiTransfer Pathway Psychology Associate of Arts

The MiTransfer Pathway Psychology Associate of Arts program is intended to set students up to transfer for a bachelor’s degree to a participating college or university through the MiTransfer Pathways Project agreement. Students interested in pursuing this program are strongly encouraged to meet with an MCC counselor in addition to a counselor from the college or university they intend to transfer to determine their plan.
Upon completion of this program [CIP: 42.0101], graduates should be able to:
- meet general education core requirements.
- describe common theories used in the field of psychology.
- explain cognitive theory.
- explain behavioral theory.
- explain developmental theory.
- explain biological theory.
- describe influences on human psychology.
- examine sociocultural influences upon human psychology.
- examine biological influences upon human psychology.
- examine developmental/environmental influences upon human psychology.
- apply psychological concepts to real-world situations.
- apply psychological concepts to one’s self.
- apply psychological concepts to current events.
- transfer successfully to a four-year institution.
Special Considerations:
- Students must earn a grade of C or better in each course.
- Students must apply and be admitted to the intended transfer college or university. Also subject to secondary admits.
- Receiving institutions agree to accept the Remaining Degree Requirements as outlined in the receiving institutions’ agreements.

Prerequisite courses may apply to this program. A minimum of 60 unduplicated credits (100 level or higher) are required for all associate degree programs.
