Information Security, A.A.S. (Kaplan University)

MCC offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Information Security in partnership with Kaplan University. This program prepares students for careers in homeland security, criminology, data recovery, data security and other related areas. It is designed to provide a student with the requisite knowledge to take the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) exam and the EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) exam.

The following Michigan Transfer Agreement Recommended Courses prepare students to meet MCC’s General Education Goal of Demonstrating Competence in Local, National, and Global Citizenship, two required:

  • IT 412 - Information Systems Security 6 credit  (transfers to MCC as ISCY 230  4 credit)
  • IT 478 - Web Servers and Security 6 credit  (transfers to MCC as ISCY 240  4 credit)

Suggested Electives


Elective credits as necessary to earn a minimum of 60 credits (100 level or above). If elective courses are needed, corses must come from the list below .
