Workforce Development
MCC offers workforce education courses at its Greenville and Sidney campuses designed to meet the needs of the community. Courses include CNC, CNA, robotics, PLCs, industrial safety & first aid, GD&T and computer skills. Community members can take one of our scheduled courses to advance their skills.
MCC also supports local businesses by providing apprentice training and customized training, internship and job connections, occupational analysis and assessment, and access to MNJTP funding.
Apprentice Training
MCC works with local businesses to design an apprentice coursework program to meet the skill needs and 576-hour education requirements of the Department of Labor apprenticeship program.
Customized Training
MCC works with local businesses to design training which accomodates employers needs. Examples are: customer service, CPR/First Aid, leadership/supervision, Microsoft Office, CNC, CAD, GD&T, Blueprint Reading, Basic Math, Measurement, Welding, Robotics, and Statistical Process Control.
Internship & Job Connections
Internships benefit MCC students and local companies. MCC assists local businesses with finding interns and employees who match the skills that employers are seeking by publishing available open positions on MCC’s online Career Coach.
Assessment
MCC can assist with assessing applicants and current employees. MCC has tools to measure basic skills, aptitude, or the skills needed for advancement. The assessments include WorkKeys, Differential Aptitude Testing (DAT), Ramsay testing, NOCTI and others.
MCC also offers American Welding Society (AWS) Qualification testing.
Occupational Analysis
MCC provides analysis of businesses current positions to identify the tasks and training needs for companies.
Michigan New Jobs Training Program (MNJTP)
If a local company experiencing growth, MCC may be able to utilize MNJTP funds to support upcoming training needs. MNJTP is a state initiative that uses tax dollars to support training for companies that are experiencing new hire growth.
