This course provides an introduction to Microsoft Access. Students will design, create, and manipulate databases and database objects.

Course Goals/ Objectives/ Competencies:
Goal 1:  Create a database using Microsoft Access.

  1. Apply good design techniques to plan a database.
  2. Create a table and define fields.
  3. Use a template to create a database.

Goal 2:  Create database objects.

  1. Create and use queries.
  2. Create and use forms.
  3. Create and use reports.

Goal 3:  Perform database maintenance.

  1. Add, change, and delete records.
  2. Specify validation rules, default values, and formats.
  3. Use queries to update and delete records.
