This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree with an emphasis in accounting and provides the background and skills necessary for an entry-level job in the accounting field. A counselor should be consulted if the student plans to transfer to a four-year institution.

Upon completion of this program [CIP: 52.0302], graduates should be able to:

apply accounting fundamentals through the entire accounting cycle.
apply procedures for accumulating and using data needed for managerial planning, controlling, and decision making.
utilize accounting principles in manual and computerized accounting systems.
understand and apply general tax rules of individuals and businesses.
analyze, interpret, and communicate essential financial information to designated users.

Prerequisite courses may apply to this program. A minimum of 60 unduplicated credits (100 level or higher) are required for all associate degree programs. Completion Time: 6 semesters
