Welding Technology Certificate

This certificate program stresses the development of techniques and understanding of quality weldments. Effects of heat and stress on welded materials are studied and practiced in the laboratory. Students may develop sufficient skill for American Welding Society Certification*. Students interested in receiving an associate degree should see a counselor/advisor.
Upon completion of this program [CIP: 48.0508], students should be able to:
- demonstrate use of computer systems used in industry.
- demonstrate use of industrial machines (lathes, mills, CNC, and Welding power sources).
- create a product using SMAW.
- create a product using GTAW.
- create a product using MIG.
- create a product using Flux Core.

Please Note:
Prerequisite courses may apply to this program. A minimum of 30 unduplicated credits (100 level or higher) are required for all certificate programs.
Program Requirements
GNST 100 offers skills needed to succeed in work-life. It is a required course and must be taken during the first semester at MCC.
