In this program, students will build the foundation for a career in IT with core skills that cover a broad spectrum of topics, including operating systems, networking, security, and device management. Students will be encouraged to take industry-recognized certification exams.
Upon completion of this program [CIP: 11.0103], students should be able to:
- demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to identify and explain the basics of computing, information technology infrastructure, software development, and database use.
- configure computer networks.
- plan and implement appropriate network security measures.
- demonstrate the ability to install and maintain computer hardware and software.

Program Requirements
GNST 100 offers skills needed to succeed in work-life. It is a required course and must be taken during the first semester at MCC.
