In this program, students will build the foundation for a career in IT with core skills that cover a broad spectrum of topics, including operating systems, networking, security, and device management. Additionally, students will explore the topics of scripting, data analytics, cloud computing, and project management. Students will be encouraged to take industry-recognized certification exams.
Upon completion of this program [CIP: 11.0103], students should be able to:
- demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to identify and explain the basics of computing, information technology infrastructure, software development, and database use.
- configure computer networks.
- plan and implement appropriate network security measures.
- demonstrate the ability to install and maintain computer hardware and software.
- understand cloud technologies and their business impact.
- efficiently manage and deliver information technology projects.
- utilize data analytics tools to make data-driven decisions.
- perform automation of system administration tasks using the most popular scripting languages.

Please Note:
Prerequisite courses may apply to this program. A minimum of 30 unduplicated credits (100 level or higher) are required for all certificate programs.
Program Requirements
GNST 100 offers skills needed to succeed in work-life. It is a required course and must be taken during the first semester at MCC.
